The Bilbao Urban Innovation and Leadership Dialogues (BUILD) is the German Marshall Fund’s first convening focusing exclusively on urban policy and leadership issues – two programmatic areas where the institution has over a 30-year history.
From June 11-14, 2014, BUILD has convened 100 civic leaders and urban practitioners from GMF’s network in the U.S. and Europe to discuss strategies for leading transformative change in cities. GMF has been pleased to partner with the City of Bilbao to host BUILD. Bilbao is a city’s whose own transformation story was the result of place-based redevelopment initiatives, innovative leadership models, and institutional structures.
